The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act

Colony Pool Service, Inc. would like to advise that the
new federal legislation which took effect December 19, 2008 requires every public swimming pool and spa to be equipped with anti-body entrapment drain covers. In addition, single-drain and dual-drain systems with drains
less than three (3') feet apart must also be equipped with
a device or system designed to prevent body entrapment, such as a safety vacuum release system.

Also, remember that several states and local governments have enacted statutes and codes requiring additional
layers of entrapment protection for residential swimming pools.
